Buunji Gala Dinner
Hosted at the Bayside Grand Hall at the Sydney Conference and Exhibition Centre, the Buunji Gala Dinner was a perfect event to celebrate the inspiring three-day conference. Scope wanted to embrace the traditional culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, paying homage to their connection to land and place through red, orange and yellow tea lights surrounding a natural eucalyptus branch as the table centrepiece. While two screens were projected during the gala dinner, the centre wave wall provided a moving visual of authenticity and texture, changing colours through the night. The gala dinner also provided an opportunity to showcase the unique Indigenous talent in Australia, from Casey Donovan, Nellie Dargan, comedian Kevin Kropinyeri and Bangarra Dance Theatre’s incredible performance of ‘ The Moth’. As a rare opportunity for so many individuals and communities to gather and share their stories, the gala dinner was a celebration of the achievements and an encouragement for the future.
