The City of Sydney wanted a short film to celebrate 150 years of Newtown for the big Sesquicentenary celebrations during December 2012. Our experienced video production team were selected by the City of Sydney to create a short film that reflected Newtown’s colourful and varied past.
The 8-minute film featured treasured archival images, voiceovers from some of the earliest residents born in the 1900s and quotes from the popular AF Lenertz song ‘Newtown is an old town that I love’ to create a nostalgic viewing experience for all who attended the screenings.
The Dendy Cinema, Newtown, screened the film multiple times during the festivities to reveal how Newtown (which is home to Scope’s boutique studios) has evolved into Sydney’s hottest and quirkiest cultural and creative hub.
