EL JANNAH | THE STORY BEHIND THE FLAME

A film that traces a legend back to its true beginning

When El Jannah set out to bring its story to a national audience, Scope Productions was engaged to craft a brand film that could carry 25 years of history — and a lot of heart — into every new market the brand enters.

El Jannah means ‘paradise’ in Arabic, and the film traces the story back to its true beginning: a small village in Lebanon, where founders Andre and Carol Estephan grew up around open-fire cooking, wild oregano and family recipes long before the brand existed. Featuring the CEO and key members of the management team, the video weaves personal reflection with brand history – from the couple’s move to Australia in the early ’90s to the opening of their first store in Granville in 1998, to the cult following that spread across Sydney’s western suburbs.

Rather than lean on polish alone, the film lets authenticity do the talking. Interviews with leadership speak candidly about the brand’s values (welcoming, authentic, fun-loving, and team-driven) and the family culture built inside the business itself, where staff retention and multi-generational teams reflect the same warmth found on the menu.

The result is a brand film that positions El Jannah not just as a growing quick-service chicken brand, but as a family sharing its table with the whole country, staying true to Mum and Grandma’s recipes as it expands restaurant by restaurant, state by state.

A story told with heart, for a brand built on it.
